Happy 2 Months Luke

Luke turns 2 months old today. It still amazes me that he has been with us for 2 months and has brought so much joy to our lives. Luke has done many "firsts" in his 2 months of life. He had his first beach trip, first trip to church, first day at daycare started today, first trip out of Mississippi, and first trip to many restaurants that we love.

Luke weighed around 11 lbs and 15oz and was 23 inches long at his 2 months doctors appointment. The pediatrician called him "Mr. Chunky." We had shots a week ago and he did great. Luke currently sleeps from 10pm-6:15am so I guess you can say we are sleeping through the night. He started doing this on the last 2 nights of vacation. He still takes 6oz of milk every 4 hours.

He can hold his head up good and can tolerate tummy time for about 30 minutes then he's done with it. He's starting to coo and ahh and smile at us. He's found his thumb and likes to suck on it to soothe himself. 

Mommy heads back to work on Wednesday and I'm excited about it. I've got a new position with the bank so I'll be doing lots of training and then head to our Belden campus to manage the branch which I am thrilled about. God has blessed our family and I will miss my time with Luke but it's time for this momma to head back to work. Luke is in good hands with the sweet ladies at FBC daycare where Will goes and I know he will get the same amount of love and attention (if not more) he has gotten already. Life is good!! 

Orange Beach 2015

The end of June my family and all the littles headed down to Orange Beach to enjoy a week of fun in the sun and sand. We chose Orange Beach over our normal trip to Destin this year because of all the new little ones that had joined our family. We had 2 babies under the age of 1 and figured that the drive to Orange Beach would be easier and a little bit closer. It was and turned out to be a great trip. We stayed at the Phoenix West II and ate at some great restaurants. We ended up getting the condo a day earlier and were able to enjoy a full week at the beach. We all had a great time and the babies did great. Enjoy the pictures!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to the one who provides our home with great joy and loves our boys with unconditional love. Doug is a great father to our two boys and is truly a Godly father. He is amazing and we thank God we get to celebrate him on this special day. Thank you Doug for leading by example and showing our two boys unconditional love like no other one can provide. You are "Super Doug" and we are thankful for you!!

We had a great weekend celebrating Doug. We went swimming on Saturday and Will pretty much owned the pool. We had a fun time. 

We then went over to Doug's parents house to visit because Nannie Lou was watching Luke. Nic and his family came in and we visited with them and then went to eat Mexican because Papaw wanted an enchilada to eat. It was a fun Saturday. 

On Sunday, we started the day by having breakfast on the patio and showering Doug with gifts. He got an updated "Dad" picture frame of the boys holding the letters DAD for his office, a grill glove, and a new rain gauge. He got a special card from Will that he made at daycare and it brought tears to his eyes. 

After breakfast Will and Doug played ball then we got ready for lunch at the Country Club with my family and then we went to see Doug's parents. It was a fun Father's Day!! 

Update on Life

Life has been good so far. Luke is such a good baby. He just goes with the flow of our family. Luke currently weighs around 10lbs and is wearing 3 months clothes already. He's already done passed Will in the clothes "hand me down" section. Yes, I have had to go buy the boy some clothes which didn't bother me too much. He can still wear some 0-3 months clothes but they are a little too snug at times.

We still take Will to school in the mornings and go walking. It's starting to get hot in the mornings so our walks are not as long as they used to be. I'll sometimes run some errands before we head back home but it all depends on if Mr Chunky is ready to eat again or not. He pretty much stays awake after his 9am or 10am bottle and is up until around 12noon ish and then he will take a "power nap" and is ready to eat again by 1-1:30pm. After that 1-1:30pm bottle he pretty much takes a good 2-3 hour nap until he eats again by 5-5:30pm and then he's up again until bath, bottle, and bedtime around 8:30-9pm. We started him on a little bit of rice cereal at night just to see how it goes and he's been sleeping till 2-2:30am and then takes another bottle again, goes back to sleep, and then is up and ready for another bottle by 6-6:30am and it all starts over again. He still takes between 5-6 oz of formula. I try to have some variance in our day so we don't do the same thing and it gets routine for him. But let me tell you, he is pretty much a "on schedule" eater and when he gets off schedule it's NOT hard at all to get him back to his schedule.

Luke loves to take a bath, play on his playmat, look at the ceiling fan, and sleep and eat. Big Brother, Will, is loving Luke more and more each day. I think he's finally realized that he's here to stay. He wants to know where he is at all times, love and kiss him every morning, and wants to know why he isn't going to "his" school. I keep telling Will that Luke will soon be joining him at school in a couple of weeks and he gets excited about it.

Luke will be 6 weeks old on Wednesday and will get his shots next week and then we are off to the beach for a week with my family and all the kiddos and then I'm back to work on July 8th. It's been a fun time off with him but I'm ready to go back and start my new job with the bank that I'm so excited about. I have realized I am not a stay at home mom. I love my boys to death but this chick has to stay busy all the time or I will clock watch and it's no fun. I've got 3 more weeks and then I'm back to work and we can have a good normal life again and take Luke with us and not worrying about who is going to keep him while we go here or there. We cannot wait to go to church as a family of 4 and be all together.

I will tell you it is much different this time than it was with Will. Will was a different story and once winter hit we were pretty much confined to the house because of his weak lungs. We are so excited about taking Luke to Oxford for football games in the fall and being a normal family again and going and doing as we please. God has been so good to us and taught us so much patience as we have adjusted to a family of 4. We are blessed!

As far as Will, he just finished two weeks of follow up for ISR swim lessons and caught on really fast. He was a fish who we couldn't take out of the water. He loves the water and loves to be outside. At night we play on the playground, kick the ball, run around the yard, jump on the trampoline, and relax on the patio. Will is full of energy and never stops until he crashes at night. Speaking of night, Will is currently sleeping in a blow up mattress in our bedroom in the floor because he won't sleep in his room. When Luke came home he for some reason decided he didn't want to sleep in his bed anymore. So hopefully this will pass but in the meantime we have made him a little area in our room for him to sleep in. Sometimes he will ask to sleep in his bed but ends up on the blow up mattress around 3am in the morning. So it's progress we think!

Will and I were at Kroger one day after church and he spotted the ambulance and went crazy. So Will got the royal treatment and got to look inside of the ambulance before we went grocery shopping.

So as for now we are loving our babies all the time.

Happy 1 Month Luke

Luke turned 1 month old today. How can that be? He is changing so much. According to our baby scale he weighs 9lbs and 3oz. We are in love with our sweet man! He eats like clock work and is every 4 hours. Sometimes I can hold him longer but it's pretty much right on schedule. Since we've been home we have had 2 bad nights only because Luke slept all day. We are in the routine of eat, play, sleep and it seems to be working really good. We take Will to school, go walking, come home and do things around the house till daddy and Will get home. Luke normally will take a power nap around lunch time and then a good 1-2 hour nap in the afternoons. He's pretty much ready for a bottle at 9pm and off to bed and up only 1 time during the night for a bottle. He takes between 4-5 oz of formula. He's definitely an eater!!!

I just can't believe how much time has flown with him and he's already a month old. Life is good and we are still doing well.
