Will had an impressive night. He gained 50 grams and is up to 990 grams or 2lbs 3oz. Only 10 grams shy of 1000 grams and his "Grammy" Party. Yeah!! So we are hoping for BIG weight gain tonight. Will is slighty anemic and his blood counts are low so they have given him some medicine to see if that will increase. If not, then he will need another blood transfusion. Unfortunately, my dad's last donated blood bag for Will expired 2 days ago but we have a new donor so that is wonderful news. Thank you Field Swoope (Cassie Crossley's husband) for your willingness to donate blood to our son!! Also, if any of you are wanting to help, Will receives a blood transfusion with O- blood. Just let me know if you would like to donate and we will get you a form so you can donate directly to Will. Any little bit helps! Also, the bad news is that we can only hold him for 30 minutes a shift now due to his blood count being so low. But we are hoping that can change soon and get his blood levels back up.
As far as new orders for today, he is still on 17ml of breast milk, .2 ml of corn oil, and medicine for his anemia to help to raise his blood count. Only a chest xray and CBG (complete blood gas) in the morning.
Time to enjoy some pictures of my 7 week old baby boy Will! But here are some stats of Will's progress.
Body Length: 13 5/8 inches
Head: 10 1/4 inches
Weight Gain in 1 week: 160 grams from 1lb 13oz to 2lbs 3oz
I'm getting to be a big boy!
Sweet picture from last night. Literally passed out on Doug's chest. He was loving his daddy last night!
We are beginning to see a big difference in Will on a day to day basis.
