Ole Miss Homecoming Weekend

Ole Miss had its homecoming game against Idaho on October 26th in Oxford. Ole Miss won 59-14 which made for a great weekend in Oxford. On Friday night we ate at City Grocery with my parents which was delicious. Will did great in a high chair for over 2 hours. They were busy and my parents had gotten there with Will to get us a table while Doug and I came over after work. My parents entertained Will for about 30 minutes before we could arrive. We then had to wait on our food to be served and we did everything we could to think of things to entertain Will. Thank goodness for my phone and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse because right about the time Will was fixing to let us have it we gave him my phone and we was satisfied for another 30 minutes and then after that he was DONE!

Saturday we had a great nice day tailgating in the Circle with friends and family. We chose not to take Will to the ballgame because at the last game he got too cold and we didn't want to risk him getting sick so soon. So Nana Lou decided to keep him at the condo for us. Thank you Nana Lou because Doug and I got to enjoy the ballgame together. I believe we were the last people to leave the stadium after the game because mostly everyone left at half time because Ole Miss had a good lead. Oh well, we stayed at the game and enjoyed the Ole Miss victory.

On Sunday, Will slept in until 9:15am which was strange and then we packed up, ate lunch at the South Depot Taco Shop and headed home. We enjoyed yet another great weekend and a REBEL victory in Oxford.

Here are a few pictures from the weekend!

Happy 21 months Will & Hotty Toddy

Will is 21 months old today and we celebrated in Oxford with an Ole Miss vs LSU win 27-24. We had a fun time tailgating today and watching a little of the Ole Miss game. We left the game with 1:20 to go in the first quarter because it was way too cold for Will to be at the game.

Will is crazy wild these days. We got good news this week too. He has not officially been released from physical therapy but we don't have to go anymore but he will be reevaluated in December. He's got about a 10% developmental delay which is great from where he started at back in February. We will find out about occupational therapy this week. He will also start speech therapy soon because he does have a little bit of delay there and also by the time he's two it might be too late. So we decided to go ahead and start speech therapy.

Will's new foods he loves are grapes, apples, mini vanilla wafers, and baked ritz crackers. He's eating all the time now which is great. He's starting to use a fork and wants to use it to eat now rather than his hands. His new word is please and it's funny to hear him say it. It sounds like "peas."

It is amazing how far he has come. He loves to give kisses and will occasionally kiss you on the lips or cheek. He never meets a stranger which is very scary at times. Everytime we are out to eat he always finds some cute girls to blow kisses to and wave to. He's a flirt big time and we are in trouble.

Happy 21 months sweet boy.

Visiting Drew's grave

Monday we went to place flowers on Drew's grave for the fall and we took Will with us. He enjoyed running around the cemetery. One of these days we will tell him about Drew. But for now here are a few pictures.

Ole Miss vs Texas A&M Weekend

We are back in Oxford, MS for 6 straight home games which means more time and fun in Oxford and also at the condo. We had a great weekend. Unfortunately the Rebels pulled out an amazing comeback against Texas A&M but ended up loosing the game 41-38. Bummer! We ended up having a great time though.

We got into Oxford late Friday night and unpacked and ate dinner at the Honey Bee Bakery (delicious!). It's a small, quaint little restaurant on Jackson Avenue and it was recommended to us by our friend, Kinney. Thank you Kinney for the recommendation because it was DELICIOUS! I wasn't sure what to expect when we walked in but man were we impressed.

Saturday morning we got up and went for a walk around the square and to St. Peter's Church to see all the pumpkins. It's a tradition and a fundraiser for this church to put out pumpkins every year and I've always seen my friends take pictures of their kids at this place and I decided to do the same with Will. This is something I've looked forward to for years and I believe it will always be something we do with him every year. He really didn't know what to do with all the pumpkins. They had little pumpkins and big pumpkins. He decided to try and pick up the big pumpkins and also eat the stems of the pumpkins. Yes I took pictures to document the occasion.

After our walk, Will took a good nap since we had an 8:00pm kickoff time with the Rebels. We wanted him to be well rested. We eventually made our way to the Circle for tailgate time and had a blast. It had rained earlier that afternoon and we were doing everything in our power not to get Will nasty and dirty. So this momma was prepared with an extra change of clothes. He did good though and decided to walk around a lot more than normal and also play in his "Ole Miss" chair. Anything I could find to entertain him for a while was the key. He was entertained by my phone, the fritos bag, a dr. pepper bottle and also his Ole Miss cap. Hey, whatever works to keep this busy body busy for a while.

We made it to the game with Will in tow and had a great time. He was clapping and watching all the people through the game. He entertained himself again with his pom pom, my red beaded necklace and also his Ole Miss cap. We left at half time and walked back to the condo and got Will in bed and finished watching the game on TV.

The banks were closed Monday so therefore I didn't have to work so we spent our time relaxing in Oxford. We also had another delicious lunch at the South Depot Taco Shop on the square and it was very good. So thanks again, Kinney for the recommendation.

Now for the pictures

More pictures from the ball game will be done in another post because my phone is turning them sideways :(
