Ole Miss vs Louisiana Lafayette

Ole Miss had their first home football game last weekend. Of course we were right there to experience it all. We left Friday after work and headed to the condo. We met my parents for a nice dinner at Honey Bee Bakery.

The weather was expected to be a lot cooler than normal so we were excited about that. Saturday we had perfect tailgate weather and thoroughly enjoyed tailgating in the Circle with our friends. Will had so much fun playing with Will Davis and strolling in the stroller.

Emily Davis kept out shining me because she kept the toys coming for the boys to play with which I was thankful for. I have learned my lesson the next time to bring more toys.

There is a big tree near our tents and the boys play in it all the time. I have told Doug that Will is not going to play or hang from the tree. After this discussion, I look over and find Poppa Bill and Will doing this against my wishes.

After tailgating we headed to the football game. We had a great time and the Rebels pulled off a terrific win over Louisiana Lafayette.

Someone decided to steal my chair at the game. He's focused on this game. A true Rebel at heart

Then Will decided to sit between Big John and Daddy during the rest of the game. He felt like a big boy then.

After the game we headed back to the tailgate for a while and Ross and Kalyn were there so we visited for a while. We then headed back to the condo to warm up because we were a little chilly. Overall it was a great day.

Ole Miss vs Vanderbilt

Ole Miss played Vanderbilt the first weekend in September in Nashville, Tn at LP field, the home of the Tennessee Titans. Of course we went with Will but made it a day trip this time. There was some construction on I40 that it made it tough to get through with a screaming 2 year old in the backseat because he was hungry, Mickey Mouse wasn't working on the iPad, and he was sick of sitting in his car seat. We were supposed to meet up with our friends Salley and Keith for lunch but due to the traffic problems we were going to be late so we stopped at our favorite restaurant, Chick-Fil-A. Plus it made the screaming 2 year old better knowing he was fixing to eat "chick chick."

We made our way to the game and met up with Salley and Keith before the game started and had a great time visiting. Will had his own seat at the game and we were getting so many remarks from strangers about how well behaved he was and how happy he was. My survival kit for a football game consists of: lots of straws, Pom poms, the hunt for Rebel the bear, Doug's earphones, popcorn, hot dog, and his own souvenir cup filled with what you are going to drink. If you have all this with you then Will is going to be a happy camper at the football games.

The Rebels pulled out an awesome victory and clinched our first SEC win for the year, with hopes of many more to come. After the game, we stopped at O'Charley's and ate dinner, changed clothes and headed home. It was a great day and Will was fantastic, other than the traffic back up on I40.

This picture melts my heart. I told Will to take a picture with daddy and he put his arm around Doug's neck and said "cheese" and I just kept snapping pictures.

Atlanta Braves Game

We ended our mini trip to Atlanta by attending an Atlanta Braves game. Doug was so thrilled to be taking Will to a Braves game. We have watched the Braves all summer long and Will is hooked on Braves baseball.

We shopped in Woodstock, GA all morning and then came back to take naps and get ready for the baseball game. There was a strong chance of rain that day but luckily we missed it and it rained right before we got to Turner Field. We arrived in time to find our seats and walk around. We had seats along the third base side. Unfortunately the Braves lost the game to the Florida Marlins but overall it was a fun experience.

As soon as we got in the parking lot, Will immediately spotted the Chick-Fil-A cow

Overall, we had a fabulous mini vacation to Atlanta. We got to take Will to just about everything we wanted to do. We left the next day but had to stop in Birmingham because my men needed some Polo shirts from the Polo Outlet in Leeds, AL. Thanks to Nana and Papaw for going with us on this trip because I know they had a fabulous time spent with Will and of course us too!

Mini Trip to Atlanta and Rebel Football

We went to Atlanta, GA labor day weekend with Doug's parents and had a blast. The Ole Miss Rebels kicked off their 2014 football season with a game in the Chick-Fil-A Football Kickoff in the Georgia Dome on Thursday night so unfortunately we decided to go and spend a nice extended weekend in Atlanta and we all had Monday off to recooperate.

We drove down to Atlanta after work on Wednesday night and checked into the Ole Miss Rebel host hotel, The Omni Hotel, in downtown Atlanta. It was about midnight or later by the time we all went to sleep. The game Thursday night was not until 8pm so on Thursday morning we got up, ate a good breakfast and went touring. We went to the Coke Museum and the CNN Center. Our hotel was connected to the CNN Center so we went there first and went on the studio tour.

After our CNN studio tour we talked through Centential Park to the Coke Museum.

We then made our way inside the Coke museum. There we went on the Coke tour, me the Polar bear, and tasted a few coke products.

After the Coke Museum and the CNN Center, it was time for a late lunch, a nap, and to get ready for the game. The game started at 8pm and we wanted to get Will a good nap. He did and then we went with Nana and Papaw to meet the Rebels and watch them load the bus to the Georgia Dome.

Our hotel was a block away from the Georgia Dome so we enjoyed the short walk and were ready to watch Ole Miss vs Boise State play. Will had a blast cheering, eating and simply having fun.

It was a rough game but the Rebels pulled out a solid victory in the 4th quarter and won 35-13 over Boise State.

On Friday morning we woke up, ate breakfast and went to the Georgia Aquarium. I've heard so many things about the Aquarium that we were ready to experience it ourselves. It is amazing if you are ever in Atlanta, this is a must see!

We first went to the Dolphin show. Unfortunately pictures were not allowed to be taken during the performance but Will had so much fun watching the Dolphins flip and splash in the water. After the show, he kept saying "bye dolp, bye dolp." So cute!!

Waiting on the dolphin show

Some of the dolphins after the show

After the dolphin show we then went to tour some of the other fish and let Will run some energy off. He enjoyed looking at all the different fishes and species.

Will was so interested in what was above his head rather than posing for a picture

One last pose with the fishes.

Steve then wanted to ride the ferris wheel in downtown Atlanta, which is called Skyview Atlanta. He was so excited and pumped to ride it that he literally about died when we reached the top. It was hilarious. He was so nervous being on the ferris wheel that he about passed out. I took video and we have watched it over and over because it is so funny. I've only got pictures to post but if I could post the video, I definitely would. Will, on the other hand, was so calm and enjoying the ride. It didn't phase him one bit!

Later that afternoon, we checked out the Omni Hotel and went to our next stop in Kennesaw, Ga where we were going to spend the rest of the weekend.

More on our trip later.
