Just a quick update

Just a quick update regarding our status with Baby Luke.

I did a 24 hour urine test to determine the amount of protein and fluid I was having. All the test results came back lower than the "concern risk" as to what they are looking for. So in other words no baby this week. My blood pressure was elevated still this morning at 145 over 95 so given that I'm still on bed rest for the next few days and can't return to work.  We go back to the doctor Monday morning, given that nothing happens between now and then, and if all goes well Baby Luke should be here by next week. We are so thankful for all the prayers we have received and are praising God for the good test results. We still want my blood pressure down but the resting should help that.

We will update the blog when we know more or if anything changes.

Update on Baby Luke

Baby Luke is doing fine. We had a doctors appointment yesterday and he weighs in at 6lbs and 6oz and he's supposedly has a lot of hair. He was active and decided to show out a bit today. He decided to elevate my blood pressure again and send me to the women's center for testing. After having some more blood work done and urine testing they discovered I had some protein in my urine which is a cause and concern for preclampsia. I was sent home and put on rest until Thursday. I have to collect urine for 24 hours and then return it to the doctors office on Wednesday and we should know the results of the test late Wednesday afternoon. If all is good with the tests then I can return to work on Thursday and if not then we will go from there to determine the best option. The ultimate goal is to get me to 37 weeks which would be this coming Saturday so we will see what God has in store for us and Baby Luke. He has been so good to us so far but I'm so nervous. I've never had any problems with my blood pressure until now or any of the signs of having high blood pressure. Our prayer is for God to intervene and show us HE is in control and not us.

36 weeks

36 weeks today!!! I just don't know what to say! I never thought I would make it this far! God has been so GOOD to us and it is definitely something we are thankful for! This week we reached exactly 1 month until Luke's due date in May. We are so ready and excited to see when he will arrive, who he will look like, and if Will is going to like him. Will is going to have an adjustment to make so please pray for us as we begin to make the transition to a family of four!

Heartburn and indigestion has literally killed me this week. It's been awful. I've felt like I have had a few contractions but I'm not sure if it's them or just gas pains. Lol!! Luke has been moving a lot these days but some are a lot more forceful than others. He tends to use my stomach as a boxing ring and my bladder as his jumping mat. I'm up every 2 hours at night now peeing and I sometimes dread sleeping because I just can't get comfortable anymore. There are more pillows in my bed than people!

We go to the doctor Monday and begin our once a week visits. I can't wait to see how much he weighs and to see his sweet face again.

In other news.......

Things are moving along at the house as we anticipate Luke's arrival. Back in the fall we added an arbor and a new stone patio area onto the back of the house. I got my patio furniture ordered and sweet hubby put it together this week and we have been enjoying the cooler nights on it. I've got a few more pieces to add but here it is.

Also we have had an ongoing project of new landscaping beds being installed and a new irrigation system put in plus we had to get a new water meter installed for the irrigation and because of all the rain we have had here recently the guys finally finished it this week other than a few minor things to touch up. We told them it had to be finished by May 1st because of Baby Luke's arrival.

Also Will got a new playground set for his birthday and it's been in boxes since March because every weekend it's been raining or too cold and Doug and his dad couldn't get it together. Well it's been in the process of going together since Friday and I've been supervising the project! It's almost done!

So here's to 36 weeks and progress this week on projects!

35 weeks

35 weeks and living on a prayer to survive. I guess you could say I'm completely miserable, tired, slow, and about to fall over by being top heavy. Also, indigestion has not been a good friend to me either this week. Plus I'm hungry all the time and I just can't eat much either because I get full quick and very miserable. Good news is is that I'm 10 weeks further along than I was when I had Will and Drew. So GOD is good and I really shouldn't be complaining!

On the other hand, Baby Luke is doing well. We had a doctors appointment this past week and he just finished having the hiccups and had elevated his heart rate but it finally came down to around 160. We will go back in a week to get his actual weight measurements and see if he's still head down. I'm still measuring between 34 and 35 weeks which means he's still growing. Also my blood pressure was a little elevated too but I haven't had any problems and the doctor wasn't too concerned. He just told me signs to watch for and when to get concerned. I also have 2 more shots to take. Yippee!

My bank family gave me a sweet baby shower this week at work and we got some great essentials for Baby Luke. We got diapers, wipes, towels and wash cloths, diaper cream, bath soap and shampoo, burp cloths, books, toys, and dreft detergent. All of the things we needed they supplied.

So here's to lots of prayer and onto 36 weeks!

Work Baby Shower

My bank girls and guy boss gave me a shower to help prepare for Baby Luke's arrival. They went all out to surprise me and shower me with some of the essentials we needed to help welcome Baby Luke in a few weeks. I'm so blessed to work with such a great group of people who do everything they can to make me feel special. I couldn't ask for a better group of sweet people to work for and with everyday. They rejoiced with me when I found out I was pregnant, prayed for me and Baby Luke, and literally made sure I didn't hurt myself at the bank. I can't wait for Baby Luke to meet my sweet co-workers.

Happy 34 weeks

Happy 34 weeks pregnant to me! I'm 10 weeks further along than I was when I delivered Will at 24 weeks. I'm so thrilled for this milestone but honestly I'm so ready for Luke's arrival. I feel every bit of 34 weeks pregnant and then some. My feet these days feel like watermelons. I've resorted to only wearing flip flops because my feet are swelling when they get hot and need to breathe. As far as Luke he is still good kicking around and stretching. One night he was kicking while I was laying on the couch and I thought he was literally going to punch a hole through my stomach and exit that way. To say the least the kicks are very forceful and strong now. He does like to stretch out and I feel every bit of uncomfortable when he does it.

We go to the doctor this week for a 34 week check up. I'm also on the countdown for the shots that I'm taking. I've got 3 more to go and should take the last one on April 29th then we are just waiting on go time. I'm thankful for these shots because I've been able to take to keep baby Luke in as long as possible.

Not much to report this week other than I had my first baby shower given by my Sunday School class this past week. We got a lot of things to help us prepare for Baby Luke's arrival. I got his "coming home" outfit at the shower from my mom so I can officially say Luke's bags are packed and ready to go.

So super cheers to 6 weeks to go!!

Baby Shower for Luke

My sweet Sunday School class gave us a shower to help prepare for Baby Luke's arrival. We had a good time fellowshipping at Newk's and Baby Luke got plenty of diapers, wipes, clothes, and other things that we can use. It was so nice of them to shower us and help us prepare for his arrival.

Happy Easter

He's ALIVE and now we can live to face tomorrow! What a great feeling as Christians to serve a RISEN SAVIOR! Easter is such a special day that we celebrate! We had a great church service today and enjoyed a wonderful lunch at the Country Club with my family. Thank you Jesus for dying on the cross for my sins and rising 3 days later to show us that you are ALIVE in our lives every day!
