28 weeks

Well we mde it another week. Week 28 is here and now we march into the 3rd trimester. Not much has happened this week with the pregnancy other than Luke is still moving around and the kicks and jabs are becoming alot harder. My feet and ankles are beginning to become one aka "cankles." Also I can tell that some of the shoes I used to wear I can't wear anymore. I'm trying to prop my feet up and stay off them as much as possible at work but when you work in a bank and do the busy work I do and run around all day it's hard. Days when it's slow it is good to prop my feet up and relax as much as I can. Rolling out of bed is getting tough and also getting up from the couch can be tough at times. I haven't really craved anything out of the ordinary it's just that some foods taste better than others at times.

I'm ready to meet Baby Luke but he's got to continue to keep cooking. March is here tomorrow so that means it's getting closer to May and we are getting excited.

Nursery Progress

The nursery is coming along well and we are waiting on the final touches to be completed. We got the bed back last week and the rocking chair and it looks fabulous! A friend of mine who works at The Farmhouse in Tupelo painted it with Annie Chalk paint and distressed it and did a fabulous job. I was extremely pleased. My mom finished with the bedskirt too. Can't wait to see it all put together. The curtains are coming this week and I'm so excited and three more prints are going up this week that I ordered. Also I'm working on a project to go over the bed and have decided to do Luke's own door hanger. Pinterest you are killing me but I like it because I'm putting a few personal touches in his room. We will see how it goes!

Snow Snow and more Snow

We enjoyed a great snow day on Wednesday. Actually I was at home with Will who had been recovering from the awful stomach bug. We knew the weather was going to get bad and we were predicted to get 3+ inches of snow. The snow was supposed to come in at around 2 o'clock that afternoon and schools and daycares were already canceled for the day.

After lunch we stayed up and played a little bit to see what it was going to do. Then all of a sudden it started raining/sleeting and then a few minutes later it started snowing and snowing and snowing. It was snowing big huge flakes. I've never seen anything like that in several several years. The last time it snowed really heavy in Tupelo I was really little. So Will and I had to go out and see the snow. This was Will's first snow experience and he loved it. We waited patiently for daddy to come home so we could go outside and play and of course take pictures. We built a small snowman and had a little snowball fight. We didn't want to stay out long in it because Will was 90% over the stomach bug and we didn't want him to catch anything else. Plus we didn't have the right clothes on to really enjoy the cold snow. We enjoyed the most out of it and Will got to experience his first snow. He kept starring out the window saying "snow momma snow." So sweet!

We enjoyed our snow day with Will and glad he got to experience such a beautiful sight in Mississippi. We ended up getting 7+ inches of snow and yes the weatherman was finally right!

Our happy faces that it is snowing and waiting on Daddy to come home so we can play

27 weeks

Another milestone we hit with the pregnancy is 27 weeks today. Yippee! Each week like I said is a step in the right direction and giving Baby Luke longer time to cook.

I passed the glucose test on Monday. Everything went well with it and the drink was not bad at all. Actually tasted good. My iron levels are a little low but it's nothing to be concerned about. I've just been advised to take an iron supplement pill and all should be good. We go back mid March to have a 3D sonogram done and I'll be 30 weeks that time and I about freaked out. It's not that I'm scared it's just that it's that much closer to seeing and holding our precious Baby Luke.

My mom finished the crib bedskirt and my friend finished Annie Chalk painting and distressing the crib and the rocker. I can't wait to see it! I'll post it later!

Here is a preview of the bedskirt before mom sewed it together.

Yeah for another week of progress!

Happy Valentine's Day and 26 weeks

Happy Valentine's Day to the loves of my life, Will, Doug and soon to be Baby Luke. I feel like a blessed woman to have these special sweet men in my life.

Valentine's Day has been a day of relaxing and watching "tb" aka TV as Will says. Will came down with a viral infection and high fever Monday afternoon. He got worse early Thursday morning and was diagnosed with pneumonia. So he has been home gaining strength back and of course his appetite. We finally broke our fever Friday morning and have been fever free since then. Thank goodness! Unfortunately we had to miss all of our Valentine's Day parties at school but that's okay.

Doug and I were able to go out to eat Friday night for a pre Valentine's Day dinner at a great restaurant called Fratesi's. We enjoyed our time away and Doug's parents stayed with Will. After dinner we went to Babies R Us and bought a swing and a jogging stroller so that was my Valentine's present.

We were supposed to go to Oxford tonight and watch the Rebels play Arkansas in basketball but since Will got sick we decided to stay home and enjoy it on TV. So we gave our tickets away to a good friend of mine to enjoy!!

We fixed pancakes and sausage this morning and have been taking it easy so far. Will got a new Mickey Mouse, a Dr Seuss book, a book about On the Road vehicles, a balloon, and some M&Ms. He was happy to have a little pick me up today.

Then Will and Doug laid on the couch to rest and watch Mickey on "TB" aka TV.

We got out of the house and took Will for a car ride so I could run an errand. He enjoyed a different scenery. Of course Mickey came along for the ride.

We then came back and Will went outside to help daddy paint letters for Baby Luke's READ shelf since it was pretty outside. He also was able to enjoy a little bit of sunshine today.

We ended our night with polish sausage, cheese and crackers. Yummy!

Will had fish sticks.

I just love my precious Valentine's!

26 Weeks Pregnant

Also today marks 26 weeks pregnant. Hallelujah for another week of Baby Luke staying out and cooking where he belongs! I go for my glucose test Monday so pray I pass it. Updates later on the outcome of the test and our appointment with the doctor. I'm excited this week because we are getting the crib and rocker Annie Chalk painted and I can't wait to see it finished!!

25 weeks

We are officially 25 weeks pregnant today with Baby Luke. We are Praising God for being 25 weeks!! As a mom of a premature baby born at 24 weeks and 5 days this is a huge PRAISE and relief. 25 weeks down and 15 more weeks to go. I go for my glucose test a week from Monday which I'm actually looking forward too because I didn't make it that far the first time. I still take weekly progesterone shots and they are beginning to hurt a little bit more but I'll take the pain and keep going. I'm not really craving anything. Foods taste better to me and I can't get enough cheese at the moment. We are taking every week as a milestone and thanking God for another week of growth for Baby Luke as he continues to grow inside of me.

Baby Luke is still active and moving like crazy. He sometimes likes to have a party at 2am. I'm peeing twice during the night and it feels like I get up at the same time to go every night. We will know more at our check up in a week.

Just an update on Big Brother Will

He is doing well with the potty training. I guess I could say he is officially potty trained. We are still having issues with pooping in the potty. He is really good at telling us he has to go potty though. At night he still wears a pull up. He wears underwear during nap time because he has learned to hold it very well. Life is good with Will because there is never a dull moment of entertainment in our lives!

Sneak peek of Luke's nursery

We worked on Luke's nursery this weekend. Our theme is "Oh the Places You Will Go" book by Dr. Suess. I found this adorable nursery already done on Project Nursery through Pinterest and we are modeling it after that. Pinterest has given me so many options and design ideas and it's breaking my pocket book too. This is completely out of my element as far as colors but my designer sister, Mary, is approving and helping me get more "modern" stuff in my house! I'm getting the crib and a rocker Annie Chalk painted white and distressed which I'm so excited about. More to come but here's a sneak peek!

Wall over the changing table and dresser and I've got prints to hang on the shelves still. The shelves are from IKEA and the frames are from The Mustard Seed in Oxford, MS. The L is from Hobby Lobby.

The bookshelf that I have got to finish the READ letters which will be in orange. The shelves are from Wayfair and are the same ones that are in Will's room. So we decided to continue with the "reading" wall in Luke's room too!

The color swatches for the bedding which will all be from Premier Prints. Bright and wild and out of my element for a nursery but it's going to be great!

More pics to come as we continue to finish the nursery! 4 MONTHS to go and counting down till Sweet Baby Luke is chilling in this bright and wonderful nursery.
