Christmas Day Morning

Will was so excited that Santa had come. He woke up at 6:45am but we made him stay in bed till 7:15am. Unfortunately, Luke wasn't up yet so we had a little bit of Christmas with Will before Luke joined us at 7:45 or so. Luke enjoyed his first Christmas and didn't really understand what was going on. It was around 70 degrees and rained all day on Christmas day that it kind of put a damper on the feel of Christmas this year. We made the best out of the day and luckily we didn't have any outside toys to play with.

Will wanted presents from Santa. He didn't care what was in them just presents. Will got a Thomas the Train Avalanche Express train track with about 5 different Thomas the Train trackmaster trains from Santa. He also got clothes, shoes, a new red robe and alligator slippers.

Luke got some new toys, clothes, and shoes too. We didn't really know what to get him because he has so many toys and clothes that were Will's but we decided he needed a few new things. Luke got a play table, a musical train, and some other learning toys too.

After we opened presents we had breakfast with Doug's parents and they brought the boys more presents. Will got a harmonica and Luke got more clothes.

Christmas was so much fun this year and it's only going to get better with these two crazy boys!

Here's the recap of the morning:

Christmas Eve

We attended Christmas Eve service at Doug's parents church, The Orchard. It was an early service at 4pm and since Doug had gallbladder surgery we thought we would go to an early service and eat an early dinner. This was also the first time Doug had been out of the house since surgery so we didn't want to rush into things by ourselves. It was also nice to have the help from Doug's parents that night too. It was a wonderful service and Will was in awe when we lit the candles.

After the service we went to Longhorn Steakhouse and had a delicious meal. Doug was actually able to enjoy the foods he had been missing out on. When dinner was over, we rode around looking at Christmas lights and blow up things which are in people's yards. Will and I made cookies for Santa and then we tucked our tired and excited little boys into bed for the night "in hopes that Saint Nicholas would soon be here."

Candlelight Service

Luke: Hey brother, look at mom she wants another picture.
Will: If we don't look at her she may not take the picture.

Got your picture!

Will LOVED the candlelight service

Brunch with Santa

Brunch with Santa was held at the Tupelo Country Club. Will and I went while Doug and Luke stayed at home because Luke was running fever the night before. It was fun and all the cousins showed up dressed in reindeer outfits unplanned of course.

After the brunch was over I met Doug at urgent care and swapped kids. I stayed with Luke at the clinic and Doug took Will home. Luke was diagnosed with RSV and a double ear infection. Oh well, Tis the Season!

AND to top that off, Doug had gallbladder surgery the next day. He was a trooper and did perfect!

The Polar Express

All Aboard the Polar Express!! We rode the Polar Express in Batesville, MS and had the best time. Will and I prepared by watching the movie a few days before we departed and Will fell in love with the movie. We watched it 3 times before we boarded the Polar Express. The train was supposed to leave at 7:30pm but ended up not leaving till 8pm.

Doug and I went shopping in Southaven at the new Tanger Outlet mall then headed on over to Batesville to meet his parents at Cracker Barrel with the kids. Nana and Papaw went with us on the Polar Express too. Papaw's love of trains has been passed onto Will now and it's so funny to watch these two on a train ride.

The Polar Express captured all the aspects of the movie. The chefs were dressed in white and served hot chocolate and sugar cookies, we got our Golden Ticket punched, we saw the North Pole, and picked up Santa and the Elves on the way back home. The whole train ride lasted about an hour. It was so much fun!

It's Christmastime

Christmas Time is busy busy around our house. We have had birthday parties, christmas parties, and lots of Christmas shopping to do this year. We have a motorized train under our Christmas tree and Will loves it! We have been doing Elf on the Shelf and Will loves to get up every morning and look for Jingles (he has a new name this year). Jingles has ended up in the cookie jar, hung underwear on the Christmas tree, had a marshmellow bath and even had a bad report back to Santa because Will acted up at school one day. I believe it's only going to get busier as the years go on with these two! As of mother of these sweet boys, I wouldn't have it any other way!

Happy 7 months Luke

Luke turned 7 months old on December 6th. He is a chunk but so happy. He wears 6-9 months clothes some 9-12 months and eats 4 jars of baby food a day along with three 6oz bottles and one 8oz bottle at night with cereal. He's tried mashed potatoes and dressing as table food. He still has no teeth so we have to mash everything up fine if he eats it. He scoots on his back half way across the house and refuses to roll over at home. He gets on his tummy and swims and its hilarious!

He recently found his tongue and loves to stick it out at me and laugh.
