Beach travel home day

The day was finally here for us to travel back home after a fun-filled week at the beach. We decided to leave around 8-8:30 am that morning but Luke decided to have other plans for us. Luke woke up at 3:30 am that morning and refused to go back to sleep. We had the majority of our stuff packed we just had to finish up the rest of it that morning. Since Luke refused to NOT go back to sleep Doug and I decided to go ahead and head home. We left Orange Beach at 4:45 am and headed home. We had no traffic whatsoever and were able to breeze on through the Mobile Bay Tunnel without a problem. Unfortunately it go quiet before we hit the tunnel and I look back to see what they were doing and both boys were passed smooth out. Luke was asleep and Will had thrown the blanket over him because it was too sunny outside and he wanted to sleep. They slept till we got 30 minutes outside of Meridian (2.5 hours almost). We prayed before every traffic light that we got to so we wouldn't have to stop and the boys would wake up. Luckily we only got stuck at one light and they never woke up. We got to Meridian and stopped and ate breakfast at McDonald's which was around 8-8:30 am. After breakfast we headed home and arrived by 12 noon. We unpacked and all of us took another nap that afternoon.

In a way, I'm kind of glad they woke up so early and it made the drive so much easier. It was a good peaceful 2.5 hours with 2 kids sleeping.

Orange Beach Day 6

Day 6 was the last day at the beach and we decided to hit the beach early and stay as late as possible. I believe this day we lasted from 9:30am-3:30pm and only swam about 30 minutes in the pool. We had some gorgeous weather this last day and also had a sand bar near us where the kids could go out and touch and stand up and play. The sand bar later turned into a small river and the wind shifted and we had the best breeze coming from the ocean. We thoroughly enjoyed this last day on the beach. Later that night we went to a new restaurant called Cafe Grazie and had the best meal. It was a seafood italian restaurant and it was delicious. We ordered so much food and had a good time and we were there about 2 hours. Yes, the kids got tired and fussy but we got through it. We were going to walk around the San Roc Cay marina but a storm came and we headed back to the condo to pack.

All in all it was a great trip!

By this day, Tucker finally began to like the sand and the ocean. He loved digging and splashing in the water.

Orange Beach Day 5

Beach Day 5 was wonderful. After the rain we had the day before, we started out early and stayed all day. Luke and Tucker napped on the beach, we ate lunch on the beach, we played in the ocean all day and swam in the pool about 30 minutes. Later that night we had dinner at Fisher's and we had to eat downstairs because of a private party upstairs. We were a little disappointed but made the most out of it. We have looked forward to Fisher's all year and were quiet upset but as I said we made the most out of it.

Orange Beach Day 4

Day 4 started out not so great. We woke up and it was raining so we opted for a Pirates and Princesses breakfast at The Hangout. We threw on clothes and headed on over to The Hangout. It was fun and the kids enjoyed it. The pirates and princesses came around to each table and the boys got eye patches and scarfs for their heads and the girls got something special from the princesses baskets. After breakfast the kids went on a Treasure Hunt around The Hangout and had fun. After breakfast we headed back to the condo and some took a nap and rested and others went to the indoor pool to swim since it was misting rain. We took a nap and then headed to the indoor pool later.

Later that night we had reservations at the Villagio Grille which is in the Wharf. After dinner the kids went to Build-A-Bear workshop and made an animal and then walked around and went into some of the shops. Later that night there was a Spectacular Light show and the kids enjoyed that and had a dance party in the street. It was such a FUN night compared to how the morning started out.
