Orange Beach Travel & Day 1

We went to Orange Beach, AL with my entire family June 11-18. It was my parents, sisters, their husbands, and kids so it was 7 adults and 5 kids. We had the best time. We stayed in the Phoenix West II, the same place we stayed last year, and had a great condo on the end of the property. It was so nice. The weather was so so, hit and miss showers, but the last 2 days were absolutely gorgeous. We soaked up as much sun, sand, and water as possible.

We left Tupelo at around 8am on Saturday June 11th and headed down to Orange Beach. The boys did great in the car. We had movies going and toys to play with. We stopped in Meridian at Chick-Fil-A and let them stretch and play and eat lunch. We met up with mom and dad and Alecia and her kids. Mary and John passed because Tucker had been screaming for an hour and he finally passed out so they kept driving. After lunch, we kept on driving and the boys fell asleep for about 2 hours and we had a peaceful ride to Orange Beach. Yes, they woke up right before we hit the Mobile Bay Bridge and Tunnel so we got to experience the tunnel this year with the boys. We got Orange Beach early and went straight to the Polo Outlet mall in Foley and bought Will some jeans and khaki pants for school in the fall because those pants seem to fit him well. We left there and headed to check into the condo. Mom and Dad were already there so we made our way up to the 11th floor and began unloading. We had pizza and salad that night and went to the grocery store and got everything ready for the next day.

Day 1 at the beach was not how I had planned for it to happen. Luke woke up at 3:30am that morning screaming. We were all in 1 room together so I took him out to the den and tried to rock him and put him back to sleep but he wasn't budging at all. He finally passed out around 9:30am and Doug stayed with him in the condo while Will and I headed to the beach. Luke took a 3.5 hour nap and met up with us later that afternoon for a swim in the lazy river at 2:30 that afternoon. We had a good dinner at Louisiana Lagniappe and I crashed since I had been up for 18 hours plus without a nap.
