Christmas at Mom and Dad's house

We had a great Christmas at my parent's house this year. We ate lunch and opened gifts until 7pm that night with lots of breaks in between. It takes that long when you have 11 people to open gifts and we sure had a LOT to open. We all enjoyed Anna Grace and her first Christmas with us even though she might not remember it but oh well! Enjoy the pictures!

Just finished eating a great meal prepared by mom

All of us thinking about dessert

Anna Grace chilled in her bouncy seat and talked to her flower while we ate lunch

Aunt Kara will you please quit taking pictures of me??

Anna Grace passed out when we all started opening gifts

All of the presents to open. This is why it took 6 hours to open gifts

Yes, we had to do "stockings from Santa"

Anna Grace woke up and we had to have some playtime

Look at me, I'm on my tummy! She is looking more and more like her mommy, Alecia.

Christmas 2009

We had a great Christmas. Doug and I were very blessed to say the least this year. I got me a new Iphone 3gs and Doug got a few shirts that he needed. We did our Christmas together on Christmas Eve since we were having his parents over to eat breakfast and then had to be at my parent's house by noon.
So I will leave you with a few pictures.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas from our family to yours!

Luke 2: 9-18
An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger. Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests." When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about." So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.

Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Penny Family Christmas

I can definately say fun was had by all this year at the Penny Family Christmas. We had Christmas a little early with Doug's family this weekend. It was so much fun because Ross was hillarious to watch open all the presents. He thought all of the presents under my tree where his. We would ask him who this is for and he would say "This is Ross's" over and over again. Ross was excited about all his Lighting McQueen and Towmater stuff from Nana and Papaw. Aunt Kara and Uncle Doug got him a t-ball stand because the boy loves some baseball even though he is only 2 years old. Gotta teach them young is what Doug says! I got some beautiful distressed frames that I absolutely love but there is only one problem, I don't have anybodies pictures to put in them yet. We are still working on that one! HA HA!!!!

Oh well! Enjoy the pictures from this weekend!

Ross and Papaw looking at trains on the computer

Listening to Papaw read "Twas the Night before Christmas"
After Papaw read the story, Ross went around the room and gave everyone a goodnight kiss

Daddy and Ross trying to figure out the t-ball set

The best toy he got, a flashlight!

Ross got some "big boy" underwear and so Doug and Kara thought
Daddy and Papaw needed some "big boy" underwear too!

Everybody bowling on the Wii. Ross acted like he was bowling too
and flung a cookie across the room.
HILARIOUS!!!!

The entire Penny clan

Cannot forget sweet baby Kalyn!

Merry Christmas to all!

Parties, Parties and more Parties

December has been a busy one for the Penny household. We have hosted 2 parties at our house this year. The first weekend in December was our Sunday School party and then the next weekend was Doug's work party again at our house. It seems like all we have done this month was cleaned the house, shopped, and entertained. We are having Christmas with Doug's family next weekend (at our house) but are definately looking forward to seeing Ross open all his gifts from the grandparents and uncles/aunts. I will post pics from that event too so stay tuned!

Thanksgiving 2009

I know I'm late posting pictures from Thanksgiving but this Christmas has seem to have gotten the best of me lately. We had Thanksgiving dinner at my mother's house this year. It was very special because my Grandmaw Yagel, who is from Maryland, has moved to a retirement home in Tupelo and got to enjoy Thanksgiving with us. It has been a long time since we all have enjoyed the holidays with her and we are thankful that she is going to get great care here in Tupelo and we will also get to spend many more holidays with her too. Also, another reason why it was so special is because Anna Grace McMath was here to share it with us, even though she was asleep half the time and won't remember anything from Thanksgiving 2009.

Here are a few pictures from our time together at Thanksgiving!

We are all "stuffed" after enjoying a great meal cooked by mom

Anna Grace snoozed while we ate

She is wondering why Aunt Kara is taking so many pictures of me

She decided to give me one smile the entire time I was snapping pictures

Then she fell asleep in my arms. Such a great cuddle time with Aunt Kara

Of course Aunt Mary could not miss out on the cuddle time either!

Anna Grace McMath

Anna Grace McMath was born on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 7:09am weighing in at 7lbs 10oz and 20 3/4 inches long at Germantown, TN Methodist Hospital. Proud parents are Alecia (my sister) and Michael McMath and big sister, Anessa. Alecia had a long day with contractions starting on Wednesday at 12noon and Anna Grace, being indecisive like her mother, decided to wait until Thursday morning to grace us with her presence. Alecia and Michael are so happy that she is finally here and very sleep deprived. Aunt Kara got lots of cuddle time in today and can't wait to see her grow and change into a very pretty and sweet girl.

Happy belated Birthday Doug!

I'm such a bad wife because I didn't post a "Happy Birthday" message to my husband. Doug turned 29 on Saturday, Sept 19th. We had a great weekend celebrating! He has been traveling alot lately and it was good to have him home this week. We celebrated in the Circle at the Ole Miss game this weekend. We had cake and lots of great food to eat. Ole Miss won this weekend and Mark Martin won the New Hampshire Nascar race this weekend too so it made for a great birthday weekend for Doug. I cooked lunch for him on Sunday to finish off a great birthday weekend. So Happy belated Birthday, Doug!

Labor Day weekend

Labor Day weekend we headed to Arkansas for the Penny family reunion. We had a great time visiting with family we haven't seen in a while. Here are a few family pictures we took that weekend.

A Great Weekend in August

We had a great weekend! Friday was Steve's birthday and we celebrated all weekend by playing baseball, bowling, eating, and church. We had a great time visiting with Nic, Kim, Ross, and Kalyn who came in on Saturday from Memphis. We are always glad to see them when they are in town. Saturday afternoon we played baseball with Ross's wiffle ball and bat and had birthday dinner. Saturday night we decided to go bowling, so we all went bowling and Doug and his dad both killed us at bowling. Both of them scored over 120 points in bowling but we all had a great time. On Sunday, we all went to church and then laid around the house and watched the Nascar race. Here are a few pictures from the weekend!
