5 Years of Wedded Bliss

I cannot believe its been 5 years since I said "I do" to the man I love most in this world. Here is a summary of our 5 years together "No kids (still working on that one), 2 houses, 1 niece, 1 nephew, 1 spoiled rotten dog (who acts like our own child), we both lost our grandfathers in the same year, and lots of love and laughter to spread throughout the world." I love my husband more than life itself and I wish and pray for many more years with him. Thanks honey for a fabulous and joyous 5 years with lots more memories and years to come!!!! Love you!!!!!

In honor of this special occassion, I'm posting some pictures of that special day on July 31, 2004. So enjoy them and I hope they are not too blurry!

Alecia's Baby Shower

Alecia had her first baby shower this past weekend at her house hosted by myself and Heather. We had a great time and Alecia got so many great things for Anna Grace. It's just the first of many showers she will have. We are also getting more and more excited about her arrival in September and cannot wait until she is here! Aunt Kara is really excited!!!!!!!!!!

Here are a few pictures from her shower.

My first diaper cake to ever make. Isn't it soooo cute?

Anna Grace McMath's Nursery

Anna Grace McMath's room is coming together very well. My mother and I went to Memphis this weekend to help Alecia and Michael prepare Anna Grace's room for her arrival in September. I also threw Alecia a baby shower so that is the real reason we went to Memphis. Alecia and Michael purchased a new home in Arlington, TN so the first order of business is to decorate Anna Grace's room. Here are a few pictures of her room and also of Michael working very hard to put together the bed and pack-n-play.

Ross & Uncle Doug

Since I don't have many pictures of Ross & Uncle Doug, I thought I might post this cute picture of them.

Ross's New Swingset

Ross got a new swingset a couple of weeks ago so we ventured to Oakland, TN to see him and of course Kalyn too. Nic and Kim cooked ribs and we had a great time visiting and watching Ross go up and down the slide. I couldn't get over the fact that his little legs can climb those stairs so fast.

Kalyn Elisabeth Grace Penny

Kalyn Elisabeth Grace Penny made her entrance into the world a few days early but definately came in a hurry! We were woken up this morning at 2:30am with a phone call to say that Nic and Kim were in the hospital and Kim was in labor and Kalyn should be here soon. So I called Nic to make sure Kalyn was coming and it wasn't a false alarm. Sure enough Kalyn was coming. Nic said they got to the hospital at 12:30am because Kim started having contractions at 10pm last night. So we get out of the bed and get dressed and rush to the hospital. Before we left our neighborhood at 3:30am, Nic calls and says "She's here!". We couldn't believe it! Kalyn was here already and the grandparents, aunts, and uncles were in route to see Kalyn. Baby Kalyn, mom, dad, and big brother Ross are doing great. Kim looked wonderful. You couldn't even tell she had a baby. Well here are a few pictures of our new neice, Kalyn Elisabeth Grace Penny.

Ross's 2nd Birthday

We celebrated my nephew's 2nd birthday a week early because his baby sister, Kalyn, is due any day now. Ross turns 2 on July 5th so we had his birthday party last weekend at his house. It was an Elmo party and Ross had the best time. Here are some pictures from Ross's birthday party!

Destin, FL

Well we are back from Destin, FL. We had a great time eating wonderful seafood and just relaxing on the beach or in our condo. I'm not an ocean person because I don't like jellyfish but this time I got brave enough to venture out into the ocean. I stayed on a raft and floated in the ocean by myself. So relaxing!!!! Doug stayed in the room almost the entire time but got out only to eat and step on the beach for about an hour the last full day we were there. I had to beg him to come into the ocean with me. We were going to stay an extra day but the jellyfish starting venturing on to shore and that sealed the deal to come home. Anyways, here are a few pictures from our trip. Enjoy!!!!
