Will's 1 year check up

Will had a great 1 year check up today. He weighs 17lbs 11oz and is in the 4% percentile of a 12 month old. He is 28 inches long and is in the 2% percentile of a 12 month old. Both are good knowing how small we were when we began. His head is way off the charts of where it needs to be. Therefore we have been sent for an X-ray of the head called a craniosynostosis which will determine if he needs to wear a helmet or not. If he does need to wear a helmet then we would be referred to a neurosurgeon in Memphis to do that. The helmet will help fix the shape of his head.

We have been given the go ahead to start introducing table foods. So moms please give me your advise on what to introduce. We were told soft veggies and crackers, wafers and Cheerios. I can't wait for this to begin!!!!!!! We have also been told that now is a good time to start slowly getting him off the bottle. We are going back to search for that perfect sippy cup or cup. Suggestions needed as well!

Overall Dr Stone was impressed with Will and his growth. Yeah for a good report.

Look WHOOO Turned ONE

Will had his first birthday party yesterday on his actual birthday. It was a fabulous day celebrating with family. We had an owl birthday party for Will at our house. It was all owl themed from the invitations to the decorations to the food and to the party favors. It was a PERFECT day! Will had a blast entertaining everyone, eating his smash cake, to opening presents. He finally crashed in Sissy's arms after the party was over. He was a tired little boy! I can't believe my baby boy is ONE year old. Time flies!  We have been so blessed over the past year for God's great miracle he has given us. Will has given us so much love and we are so blessed to be HIS parents!

Will's new word is "dadadada." He says it all the time and started saying it yesterday. His dadda is THRILLED and smiles everytime he says it. He did crawl yesterday for the first time. He took two crawls and decided to scoot the rest of the time. He is growing up so much!

Enjoy the birthday party pictures!

Will's first teeth

Will' first tooth broke through on New Year's Day and we were so excited for him. His next tooth broke through the next day. He's so happy now that he has 2 bottom teeth to show off. He looks so much like a big boy with two beautiful pearly whites staring back at you when he grins from ear to ear. He loves to smile and show you his teeth. It is crazy to know that he has been teething since September and they finally broke through in January. The teething was awful and poor baby's mouth and gums were hurting him so bad. He would chew on everything in sight and barely eat. Now he is still chewing on everything in sight but it is not a constant thing. And eating is fabulous! He can tear up his bottle in about 15 minutes and loves his baby food. He even has started eating the gerber chew crackers which he loves. So thankful for him and his two teeth!

Will's First Christmas

Will's first Christmas was not at all what I was expecting or had hopes for in my mind. Will's first Christmas consisted of 101 degree fever, runny nose, congested cough, lots of throw up, and not much of an appetite at all. With all that said, Will's first Christmas present was the FLU. Yes, that's right our sweet baby had the FLU on Christmas. It was not fun at all. He hang in there and with lots of tamiflu, benadryl and tylenol we had a clean bill of health in 2-3 days. We managed to open presents and eat very well other than being sick.

Opening presents from Ross, Kalyn and Avre. They made him a Build a Bear for him. They named him Will. They put two hearts in the bear, one for Will and one for Drew. Oh how I LOVE my neices and nephews so much! Their imaginations and thoughts are what amazes me!
