Beach Day 2

Beach day 2 was a little better with Will. He woke up bright and early ready for the beach. We all went down around 9:30 am and played in the sand. 

He also took a nap

Ate a snack

Cracked a few smirky smiles 

Played with cousin Kalyn in the pool

Came up at 12 noon to eat lunch and fell asleep till 2:30pm. Rough life! 

Then went swimming again

Then stayed with Nannie, Nana, Sissy, and cousin Avre while mommy and daddy went to The Red Bar for a date. 

Beach day 1

Today is Sunday and we are officially on the beach, the beautiful beaches of Destin! Will experienced the sand and the salt water for the first time today. It's very overcast so we are trying to make the best out of this day. He came down to the beach today for about an hour and played in his blow up pool, got sandy, got hungry and then went back up with his daddy so mommy could soak up a little bit of sun herself. He enjoyed playing in the sand too. 

After an hour nap for Will, he enjoyed swimming in the pool with Dadda and Papaw Penny. He never went to the ocean again :(

Destin Travel Day

Well the time has come for us to travel to Destin, Fl for a few days with WILL! I'm so excited to be taking this trip with Will, Doug and his entire family. Our favorite vacation spot is Destin and Doug and I have always talked about taking our kids to Destin and introducing them to one of or favorite spots. As a kid we always went to Destin on vacation and have so many memories of the trip. We can't wait to make new memories with Will. 

We didn't make the trip last year because Will just had come home so we plan to make the most out of this trip while we are here. 

We made half of the trip last night and stayed in Prattsville, AL and met up with Nic, Kim, Kalyn, Ross, Avre, Papaw Penny and Nana Lou. Today we will continue the drive to Destin to meet up with the rest of the Roberts clan and stay in one big house all week together. So much fun and so many people!!!

All I've got to say is thank goodness for Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on the iPad! Lifesaver for an hour after our 2 hour nap. 

We finally made it!!!

Happy 17 months Will

Will turned 17 months on June 19th. He weighs somewhere around 19lbs and is a very active child. He wears a size 18 months clothes, size 3 diapers and size 3 shoes. He's not crazy about eating and would rather play than eat. His new food choices are ritz crackers, peanut butter sandwiches, hash browns (cooked by his Papaw Penny), toast, cheese puffs, any kind of fish, powdered donuts, ground beef (hates chicken), hot dogs, mixed veggies, and bananas. The only fruit so far he will eat is a banana (he hated the baby food bananas) and the only veggies he will eat is if it is a mixed vegetable can and nothing else. Crazy I know!

He is still NOT walking! UGh! Its driving me crazy. His sweet therapist is baffled because he will take anything (big or small) and hold on to it and walk with it but will not let go and do it himself. So we are working on some new exercises to strengthen his legs. My mom has already told me that when he does start walking to be prepared because he is going to take off. He loves going up the stairs and will go as fast as you let him go. He has not come down them yet.

I can definitely say that I have a fish child who LOVES the water! Bath time is hilarious and you are going to get soaken wet! My child LOVES the swimming pool. We leave Friday for the beach so hopefully he will LOVE the ocean just as much as his momma does. We are in the pool at least 2-3 days a week. Mainly because the kiddy pool is good for him to walk in and it is a "demand" from our sweet therapist to work on. Momma doesn't mind the "demand" of it either. He loves to float in the water too and watch the big kids swim. So far, we have had a great summer.

He still says bye, big, mama, dadda, and his new word is boo and bad. He gets in the dishwasher to pull and bang my plates around and we tell him NO and he quits and he looks at us and says "bad." It's hilarious! Doug has taught him to cover his eyes and go "boo" and to also make the indian sound with his mouth. He's a quick learner too. He does a lot of things to try and sneak different things by us when he knows he should not do it. His new favorite thing is shutting doors and flapping the detergent door back and forth in the dishwasher. Trust me I have been shut in a closet, pantry, and out of a room before. He's quick!

So glad my sweet miracle Will is learning new things each and every day and growing up so much! 

Father's Day and Baby Dedication

Will was dedicated last Sunday, June 16th on Father's Day at our church, Harrisburg Baptist Church. It was such a special day to stand in front of our church and family and commit ourselves as parents in bringing Will up in a Christian home and environment. All of our family members were there to watch this special occassion. It was very special because it was also Father's Day. Doug is an amazing father to Will and I can definitely tell there is a special bond between the two of them. It thrills my soul to know that Will has a loving Father who loves him more than life itself. Thank you Doug for being such a perfect Father to Will. He LOVES his DADDA!!

Memorial Day FUN

We had a great Memorial Day weekend. Will had his last "water babies" class at the Wellness Center and he went under the water and did great!

Mother's Day (just a little late)

Mother's Day weekend was just a few weeks ago and yes I am now blogging about it. 

Will was sick Mother's Day weekend so it didn't turn as I had planned. My plans were to go to church, eat at the club with my parents, go to the Gum Tree Festival, and then eat again with Doug's parents. Well we didn't make it to church and we didn't make it to the Gum Tree Festival but we did go out to eat. 

Will ran a low grade fever Saturday morning and was still coughing and had a really low grade fever Sunday so we decided not to take him to church. We instead went to lunch because he was feeling a little better and fever had gone. He did take about a 2 hour nap that afternoon and began feeling his normal self again so we decided to go out again with Doug's parents. 

Even though I had plans to do alot that day I enjoyed my day as a mother and helped Will feel better which is better than any Mothers Day present I could have been given. 

I'm so proud to have been chosen to be Will's momma. He brings me the greatest joy in my life and sure has taught me a lot about myself. He keeps me on my toes and loves me unconditionally. Whenever I'm down or in a bad mood he always cracks a smile at the right time. I absolutely love being his momma.
