NICU Day 104 & Happy 15 Weeks Old

Will had a good night. He gained weight and now weighs 4lbs 10.3oz or 2105 grams. Yeah for the weight gain! We finally got the answers we were wanting today after sitting down with Will's doctor. His plan is to have Will's eyes checked again in 2 weeks, have hernia surgery on Tuesday, and he lowered his oxygen flow to 3mls today. We were assured that we should be gone by June 1st. Let' hope! Thanks for allowing me to vent on the blog yesterday, but as parents we were just really flustered given the eye check up and then not knowing what was going on with Will. We appreciate your prayers and we know that God has a special plan for us and Will. Only HE knows when Will will come home and we will continue to be patient with HIM and follow his guidance for our lives.

  1. Will is going to be an inspiration to everyone he encounters, along with his parents. Nobody understands what you are going through unless they have been there & I have. My son wasn't as small as will but I know how scary a NICU can be. The doctors told me when I was finally able to take him home after 5 weeks that he would have asthma, be learning disabled, be sick all the time and all these things. The only thing he had was a heart monitor when he came home for 4 months, tube in his ears twice over two years and normal kid illness. He's now 22 years old and he's as healthy as they come, no asthma, no learning abilities, NOTHING!! God took care of him & God will take care of Will. He has a plan for your family and it's a good one :-)

  3. Kara, Here are a few of my favorite Psalms that I have leaned on throughout our wait for our daughter's adoption:
Psalm 25:21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait for You.
Psalm 27:14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and He will strengthen your heart. Wait, I say, on the Lord.
Psalm 31:24 Be of good courage and He shall strengthen your heart, all you who wait for the Lord.
Psalm 33:20, 22 Our soul waits for the Lord: He is our help and our shield. Let Your mercy, O Lord, be upon us, as we wait for You.
Hoping you find comfort in them as we have!
