Will's new bike

After seeing the cousins and riding their bikes we knew it was time for Will to get a bike. Nana and Papaw took Will to pick out a bike. He was picky and wanted one with bright colors. Unfortunately he ended up picking a John Deere bike. It had to be put together so Doug and Papaw put it together with Will's help. After it was put together we went riding. He hasn't gotten the hang of it yet but will. He is just so happy he has his own bike now. Life is good!

Hurry up and put the bike together

Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day weekend was pretty much laid back at our house. On Saturday we just played outside all day and enjoyed the nice weather. Will was a good help to his daddy while he mowed the grass, worked in the garden, and worked on the play pad putting stepping stones out for me. Luke and I chilled inside and did stuff because we didn't have a good night because he decided to stay up until 11pm on Friday night because he slept too much that day.

On Sunday, Will and I went to church while Doug cranked up the grill and grilled ribs and tenderloin. We had his parents over that afternoon for a good dinner and to watch the NASCAR race.

On Monday, we were supposed to meet up with my sisters and their children to go swimming but it rained and was cool all day. So Doug and Will met his parents at Cracker Barrel for breakfast and then Will went loafing with them and Doug came home to finish some outside work in between the rain. Later that afternoon we went to my mom's house and had dinner. Ribs were delicious and enjoyed by all. The kids rode bikes after dinner around my parents driveway and in the cul de sac. Will had a tricycle and his scooter to ride. After seeing Peyton's bike he ditched the tricycle and wanted to ride Peyton's bike. Thankfully he shared and Doug and I knew right then Will needed a bicycle.

All in all it was a fun and relaxed Memorial Day weekend.

Happy Due Date

Today is Luke's due date! We waited so patiently for this day when we found out we were pregnant. However, we are so excited and thrilled he has been with us for 17 days and he didn't wait till May 23rd to arrive or later. I kinda miss being pregnant but glad I'm not anymore because the weather is getting hotter and plus I'm so happy to report that I have my feet back to normal. I've got 13 lbs to go before I'm back to pre-pregnancy weight which I am working hard at doing. I've been told it takes times but it better drop quickly.  Summer is here and I'm ready to be a cute and nice dressed momma and fit back into my summer clothes and buy a few new things too.

It's Memorial Day weekend and we are just taking it easy and soaking up some time outside!

2 week check up

Luke had his 2 week check up today. He weighs 7lbs 12oz and is 19.5 inches long. According to our pediatrician he looks great and is growing well. We are cleared from having jaundice and we passed our hearing test yesterday so all in all Luke is very healthy.

He takes a 4oz bottle and we increased that yesterday because he wasn't getting satisfied with 3oz and he's taken the new 4oz like a champ. He's eating every 4 hours and I got him on a good schedule so I can transition back to work. My goal is to get him sleeping through the night by the time I'm headed back to work. So we are following a good eat, play, and sleep schedule. I've been reading a baby wise book and talking to my sister on how to do this. I should know but I'm kinda out of practice with a newborn. So life is good with Luke.

Hmm...wonder what I weigh?

Going Home Day

On Friday, May 8, 2015 we departed the NMMC Women's Hospital as a family of 4. It was the best day ever going home with our newborn baby, Luke, and not having to leave him there like we did with Will. We gave Will his "Big Brother" bag from Luke and it was filed with all his favorite stuff like nutter butter cookies, books, a couple of balls to play with, sunglasses, and some toys he likes. Will was at school that day so Doug went to go get him and also we released balloons to Drew like we did when Will was released from the NICU. It was a great day!

Luke's "Birth" day Pictures

I've been busy with a sweet little boy lately so I'm going to try and update the blog with pictures from his "birth" day while he is napping. My sweet friend, Christy Whitley, was in the delivery room with us and she took some great photos of this special day for us. I told her she could NOT miss this and she stayed with us through the entire thing! Christy was our social worker while we were in the NICU with Will and we have grown to be good friends with her. She did so much while we were in the hospital and our lives are forever indebited to her for that! Enjoy the pictures!

It's go time!

Thank you Dr. Young for all you did for us! He is truly an amazing Christian man who encouraged us throughout the entire pregnancy and watched us like a hawk given my previous pregnancy. So glad he got to deliver Luke!
