Nicu Day 36

We survived a Thursday!!!! We are so excited!! Will had a great night and even gained weight. He is up to 770 grams or 1lb 11oz. As my friend Leah says "he's gonna be a butterball soon." Also that means 230 grams to go to the 2lb mark and also we will get to hold him. We cannot wait for that day.

As far as today goes, Will's feedings will increase to 15ml and will stay on his belly most of the day so he can regulate his oxygen level a little better. He loves his belly so hopefully we will have a good day. He will also have a routine blood gas and blood work in the morning. He had a chest xray this morning and it looked a little better but still a little hazy but we are getting there. Improving is the key.

So thankful we survived a Thursday with Will. He always throws us a curveball on Thursdays and we are so glad he didn't. He only gave us a HUGE weight gain of 40 grams which we will take anyday. We are slowly improving on a daily basis.

High Praise

"I will extol You, my God, O King; and I will bless Your name forever and ever. Every day will I bless You; yes, I will praise Your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord and highly to be praised; and His greatness is unsearchable." Psalm 145:1-3

Lord, Your are Great! I pray that the eyes of my children will remain wide open to see Your awesomeness. May they know how vast is Your greatness; how deep is Your love, how high are Your ways, how rich are Your treasures, how abundant are Your blessings, how full are Your joys, how generous are Your gifts.

May my children never think that You are too small, that Your presence is distant, that Your power is limited, that Your love is conditional, that Your help is unavailable, that Your grace is insufficient. In their inadequacies and human limitations may they learn to say "I can do all things - big things, little things, unpleasant things, hard things, inconvenient things - through Christ who strengthens me."

Thank you, Lord, that no matter how much we know of You, there is more to learn; no matter how much You have given us, there is more to receive; no matter how much You have shown to us, there is more to behold. We praise your name!

This was taken out of our Promise to Pray Over Your Children book that we read to Will every night. We read this last night to him and it meant so much to us. We are praising him today for a such a great Thursday we had and we know how great he is to take care of us in times of need. We know we can do all things through HIM who gives us strength and our prayer for Will is to rest in knowing that the Lord is strengthening him everyday.

We are continually praying for Will to grow, gain weight, for him to be strong enough to come off the ventilator, and to be clear of anything that he might encounter. Will continues to amaze us every day with the changes he is making. We stand amaze and in awe of how great and almighty our Lord is blessing us with such a sweet miracle. There are no words to express to you how much we absolutely love Will and are so proud of him for fighting through this journey. We know we still have a long journey ahead of us, but we will continue to give all the glory, honor, and praise to the one and almighty Lord who has brought us this far and will continue to bring us to the point where Will will be in our arms forever.
